GOOD MORNING, SPRING

it's thursday, almost friday! PHEW.

things in Travels land have been good. not particularly eventful, but definitely not stagnant. we've started recording material for the 3rd record--that's very exciting for us, but we're going to try to avoid posting new songs as they're done, because we always jump the gun. but before it's ready and out we'll still do at least one european tour (we're thinking about going in November) and some more weekend shows to support The Hot Summer, which you've already bought and listened to many, many times. :)

mona has been making more covers for our first record, too, this time even more detailed than the first run. some images of them have been posted on the myspace (the folder is called 'new record covers' or something like that), but most are still on the camera.

we started riding our bikes again.

and tore down the plastic from over the windows.

"The Hot Summer" fresh out of the oven!

Hi Friends!
We're pleased to announce that our new CD "The Hot Summer" is finished!
It's available for Pre-ordering on our myspace page.

We did it ourselves again - with the help of Jeff Lipton's mastering skills and Dennis Noble's layout help... all the music writing, recording, producing and art making was just the two of us - we're busy bees!!

We'll be playing our CD release party on Valentines Day at P.A.'s Lounge in Somerville, and then our first Baltimore show on the 20th of February at the Talking Head Club.

off road cozy time

We're currently working on our next record. constantly going back and forth with the thought of putting it out our selves and trying to find a label to work with. The whole self release thing was great - we got to have contact with everyone that bought a record - even if only by email. the breaking even point was much easier to reach - as our costs were very low... But the reality of trying to get our music "out there" was definately daunting. So... i guess we'll just wait and see. So far the recordings sound great (anar does the recording, so i'm not really tooting my own horn) we got a new mic and have been trying out new sounds. Good times!!

As far as summer time fun time goes, turns out neither of us like the beach to much -or anything in direct sun for that matter! although farmers market seems to not count for some reason.
this week end we're throwing caution to the wind and taking a summer field trip to fun spot. we learned about funspot from this movie - super fun!

We've been listening to alot of Ticonderoga.

a plane ride with low

"looks like we made it!!" .... been singing that song since before we landed. but now it's true.

right before we left we watched 'Low in Europe'
on the plane ride home - there they were. across the isle on the plane.
funny coincidence!

i woke up this morning with a cat in my underarm and a cat smooshed in my knee. i felt like an english muffin.

we woke up really early - went to the market and had some waffles. now it's time for kitty cuddles and a nice long shower.

thanks for reading our tour blog!! we had a lot of fun - we'll keep updating as we have new songs and art and funny cat stories!

maybe we'll see some of you at P.A.'s on Saturday...
